We serve a diverse customer base, primarily from the Middle Eastern and North African communities. We are now hiring a dedicated Shopkeeper to support our growing retail operations and deliver an exceptional customer experience.
Job Overview:
The Shopkeeper will be responsible for overseeing daily shop operations, providing high-quality service to walk-in customers, managing inventory levels, and supporting in-store merchandising. The position requires strong product knowledge, customer service skills, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced retail environment.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Retail Operations & Customer Service
Open and close the shop, ensuring readiness for trading.
Greet and assist customers in both English and Arabic, advising on products.
Handle sales transactions via cash and card systems.
2. Stock & Inventory Control
Monitor and replenish inventory levels in coordination with procurement.
Accept deliveries, restock shelves, and organise backroom supplies.
Maintain up-to-date records of sales and stock levels.
3. Store Presentation & Maintenance
Create visually appealing product displays, especially during promotions.
Ensure cleanliness and compliance with health and safety guidelines.
Organise shop layout for maximum product visibility.
4. Reporting & Communication
Record daily sales activity and prepare end-of-day reports.
Report low-stock or high-demand products to management.
Communicate customer feedback to improve service
Key Skills and Qualifications:
Education: A-levels or equivalent (preferred).
Experience: 2+ years in retail or shopkeeping, preferably in independent or ethnic stores.
Languages: Fluency in English and Arabic is essential.
Skills:
Strong customer service and interpersonal skills
Familiarity with POS systems and retail procedures
Ability to multitask and manage time efficiently
Cultural understanding of Middle Eastern and North African product
